A homeless cat lingered on the street, and when a door opened, it casually hopped into an Uber as if it was finally ready to leave behind its life on the streets.
Tux the cat, a little wanderer in the streets of the Bronx, caught the attention of an Uber driver last month. The driver, who is also a volunteer for the local animal rescue organization, couldn’t resist the urge to help the black and white feline. Tux was just chilling in the middle of the road until the car door opened, and he eagerly jumped in without hesitation. This spontaneous rescue mission led to Tux finding a new home with the caring folks at Little Wanderers NYC.
The cat jumped into the Uber as soon as the door opened, surprising the driver. Perched on the dashboard, he looked like he was ready for a safe journey ahead. The driver was amazed to have a feline passenger but was happy to assist.
As the driver petted the cat, she noticed some scars from fights and discharge from his eyes. Despite his rough past, the friendly cat named Tux enjoyed chin scratches from his new friend.

Described as a scrappy tomcat with an eye infection and a few marks from his street battles, Tux was declared to be in overall good health.
The rescue team wasted no time in finding a foster home for the lovable feline. To everyone’s delight, Tux quickly settled into his new indoor surroundings and seemed to feel perfectly at ease.

He has a big appetite and loves getting cozy for snuggles. Dana, who is fostering Tux, described him as extremely affectionate and always craving head scratches. Tux came to them with food insecurity from being a stray, causing him to eat quickly due to worries about his next meal.
On the Little Wanderers NYC Instagram page, it was mentioned that Tux is still getting the hang of being an indoor cat – figuring out the litter box and not gobbling his food too quickly. But with the support and patience of his foster family, Tux is learning to take it easy during mealtime and appreciate the comfort of a safe home and loving companions.
