From Fearful to Fearless: The Heartwarming Journey of a Sweet Pittie and Her Foster Parents

This Sweet Pittie Was So Terrified Of Everything Until She Met Her New Foster Parents

Having had a dog of my own in the past, one thing that still bothers me is how scared he would get in certain situations. Fireworks were a major trigger for him, causing him to freeze up with fear and not knowing how to cope. It was heart-wrenching to see him so terrified, with his head pressed against the wall in a desperate attempt to block out the noise. Despite our best efforts to comfort him, his fear seemed insurmountable.

While some fears, like fear of fireworks, may be irrational and difficult to address, there are other fears, such as fear of humans, that can be managed. Dogs may have valid reasons for being wary of people, but with patience and understanding, that fear can be overcome.

In a heartwarming tale, we follow the journey of a timid pittie who was so scared of people that she would avoid them at all costs- that is until she crossed paths with her incredible foster parents.

When Poppy met her new foster mom, Michelle, for the first time, she was filled with fear and mistrust towards humans. It took a while for this to change, but Michelle and her team worked hard to gain Poppy’s trust. During their initial encounter, Michelle noticed that Poppy was being wheeled in a cart and kept her head down. Michelle described the heartbreaking scene, saying that Poppy was curled up, trying to make herself as small as possible.

After bringing Poppy to their California home, they had to make some adjustments to accommodate her needs. Despite having plenty of space to roam around, she remained scared and stayed in her kennel. However, after a few days, a breakthrough occurred when Poppy approached Michelle and nuzzled her head into her foster mom’s lap. This heartwarming moment signaled that she was slowly learning to trust humans. Michelle was overjoyed and couldn’t help but shed happy tears at Poppy’s progress. It was clear that Poppy was making significant changes for the better.

The next challenge was getting Poppy to socialize with the outside world, which was not an easy task. Michelle shared that every time they tried to put a leash on her, she would scurry away into a corner. However, after some time and patience, they were able to reassure Poppy and get her comfortable enough to go for a leisurely walk. During this time, it became evident that Poppy truly thrived around other dogs, showing that she was starting to form connections with them.

Over the course of their time together, there has been a significant transformation in Poppy. She has become more outgoing and playful, although she still retains a hint of shyness. Despite this, the progress she has made is truly remarkable.

Sadly, the time spent with Michelle was cut short as Poppy was placed in a different foster home. Poppy’s foster mom, while emotional about the change, believed it was necessary for Poppy’s well-being. Upon arriving at Rylee’s house, it was clear that Poppy was still fearful as she tried to run in the opposite direction. However, she found a new companion in Oak, and the two quickly formed a strong bond that would last forever. From then on, they were always by each other’s side.

Rylee loved taking Poppy to exciting new spots all over California. She made sure to keep Michelle in the loop with regular video updates, showcasing how much Poppy was growing and evolving.

When the moment came to make a decision about Poppy’s future, Rylee found herself unable to part ways with her. It turned into a “foster fail,” but in the best possible way. Rylee officially adopted the lovable pittie, and now Poppy is thriving in her new home with a sibling and a loving mom who cherishes her dearly.
