A guy from Brooklyn stumbled upon a scruffy stray cat who seemed to be in need of some assistance.
The little cat, Teddy, was found by Will from Flatbush Cats, a TNR rescue group in Brooklyn, New York, in a sorry state – skinny, covered in dirt, and eager for some food. Teddy was rescued by Will a month ago when a concerned neighbor spotted him and called for help. Teddy was so hungry that he willingly walked into the carrier that Will had brought. Despite his rough shape from starvation and dehydration, Will was determined to help Teddy turn his life around.
They decided to name him Teddy because he resembled a worn-out teddy bear, abandoned and neglected on the streets. Will could see the pain in Teddy’s eyes, a sign that he had been loved before and was now waiting for someone to love him again. Teddy’s tale is a reminder of the importance of rescue groups like Flatbush Cats in providing a second chance to animals in need.

Following a satisfying meal and a refreshing drink, Teddy enjoyed some well-deserved chin scratches. Due to his grimy condition, he required a thorough wipe-down and brushing session before being treated to a bath.
After multiple rinses and extensive brushing, Teddy emerged clean and rid of any tangled fur. Feeling refreshed, he cuddled up in his rescuer’s lap and purred himself into a peaceful slumber.

According to Will, the blood tests revealed issues with Teddy’s kidneys and low blood count, as well as a urinary tract infection. The team immediately started treatment, including fluids, injections, and antibiotics, with regular monitoring of his progress.
Since Teddy couldn’t groom himself, they made sure to clean him daily. Despite his health struggles, Teddy maintained his appetite, a crucial factor in his recovery. The team showered him with love and affection, giving him the care and attention he needed to heal.

Thanks to plenty of love and care around the clock, Teddy kept making progress. To everyone’s surprise, the adorable kitty even took matters into his own paws and gave himself a bath for the first time recently. Teddy was beaming with pride!

“He still needs a few more weeks of antibiotics before we can do more blood tests, but his appetite and energy levels are looking good. We’re really happy,” Will mentioned. “Once he’s fully recovered, we’ll begin the search for his forever home where he can be spoiled and loved.”
He’s such a sweetheart, a furry cuddle buddy. “I adore how he snuggles up for cuddles,” Will added.
