Three tiny kittens, much smaller than they should have been, blossomed into beautiful felines thanks to the assistance of a canine companion.
Tara Hatch, who runs an animal rescue organization called Mad Catters, shared the story of three tiny kittens that came into her care around three months ago. The kittens, only four weeks old at the time, were in a dire condition with fleas, anemia, and dehydration. The veterinary team worked tirelessly to nurse them back to health, providing them with fluids, medications, and round-the-clock care. Tara described the kittens as being severely underweight, about a third of their ideal size due to malnourishment. Despite their critical condition, Tara considered it a miracle that the kittens were still alive when brought to her organization, as their low red blood cell count was life-threatening.
Pixie, Paul, and Bandit, the three tiny kittens, were too weak to even stand upright by themselves. Despite their frail condition, they displayed a strong determination to survive. Along with the excellent care they received, a clinic dog named Ned, a Bull Terrier owned by one of the nurses, also lent a friendly paw to help them along their journey to recovery.
Ned is a regular blood donor at the clinic, often contributing to saving lives. Recently, he played a crucial role in helping three sick kittens who were in desperate need of special care. With the assistance of another cat named Marshmallow, the kittens were able to start their journey towards health and recovery.
Witnessing the transformation of the kittens from being weak and sluggish to energetic and playful after a 4-hour transfusion was truly remarkable.
Ned the Bull Terrier was surrounded by cozy kittens as they cuddled up to him. The kittens had bounced back, their hunger had returned, and they were gaining weight and strength. When they visited the vet again, they showed their gratitude by snuggling up to Ned, seemingly thanking him for rescuing them. With a month of care from the vet team and their foster mom, the trio was now flourishing and thriving.
Tara Hatch noticed that the kittens, filled with energy and good health, started to show their unique personalities as they grew. She was amazed by their determination to survive and thrive, which she had not seen in her previous foster kittens. Now, at three months old, they are full of life, mischief, and have grown into a lively and playful trio.
Bandit, the ginger tabby, is a true cuddle bug who adores spending time with his human and furry friends. Tara revealed that Bandit’s playful nature and love for cuddles make him a beloved member of the household.
Tara Hatch describes Paul as a gentle and loving cat with a diluted ginger and white fur coat. He is a big boy who enjoys being affectionate and cuddly. Whether you’re holding him in your arms or placing him on your lap, Paul will stay close and snuggle with you with great warmth and tenderness.
Paul and Tara Hatch shared that their calico cat, Pixie, is quite the chatterbox and loves making adorable trilling sounds. She often uses these sounds to get their attention when she wants to play or snuggle. Despite being smaller than her two brothers, Pixie is the boss of the trio. According to the Hatches, she has her brothers completely under her control.
