However, a charming cream-white cat named Honeycake is here to challenge that belief. Once adopted by his new human, Honeycake displayed immense gratitude by showering his owner with affectionate kisses. Michigan Cat Rescue came to the rescue of Honeycake and his siblings after they were callously abandoned by their previous owner. The kittens were tossed from a moving car in a bag, but thanks to the caring team at the rescue, they were saved. Despite arriving with injuries and emotional trauma, the dedicated staff at Michigan Cat Rescue worked hard to heal both their physical and emotional wounds.
Michigan Cat Rescue had a heartwarming experience when Honeycake quickly captured the heart of nurse Renee Pelton upon his arrival. Pelton fell in love with him after watching a video of Finnegan on Facebook and knew instantly that she wanted to give him a forever home.
The Michigan Cat Rescue team renamed him Finnegan to mark a new beginning, and he immediately showed his gratitude by showering his rescuer with kisses. Finnegan’s sweet and affectionate nature stole Pelton’s heart, as he enjoys giving kisses, hugs, and being cradled like a baby unlike any cat she’s ever known. Despite his loving personality, Finnegan’s health is not in the best shape, as he suffers from a heart murmur which may shorten his lifespan compared to other cats.
Upon learning about Finnegan’s diagnosis, Pelton was devastated. However, she was adamant about giving him the best care possible to ensure he lives a fulfilling life. She acknowledged that Finnegan may not have a long lifespan like some cats, but with regular medication and treatment, he could potentially live for another decade. Finnegan’s siblings, Cookie Pie and Custard Pie, also have the same condition, and they too hope to find someone as caring and dedicated as Pelton to give them the love and support they need.
At the Michigan Cat Rescue, Finnegan’s story is a heartwarming tale of second chances and gratitude. Finnegan can’t help but shower his new mom with kisses and thanks since being adopted.
