Many dream of finding a loving home for a stray kitten, but sadly, this is not always the reality for these animals. Especially if they have health issues or special needs, the chances of getting adopted are slim.
However, every homeless pet deserves love and care, just like Arlo, who found a new beginning at the Bridgend Cats Protection Adoption Center in South Wales.
He came into this world with a few physical challenges, but this sweet tabby never allowed them to hold him back. All he craved was love and acceptance.
Though she may not fit the typical cat mold, this unique feline is full of affection and always getting into adorable trouble. Before we knew it, the sweet little kitten was found to have hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up in the brain, leading to a misshapen head.
After a thorough check-up by the vet, Arlo was deemed to be in good health despite his hydrocephalus. The staff was determined to find him a loving and caring family who could meet all his needs and ensure he had the best quality of life possible. Meanwhile, Davy, a social worker specializing in disabled children, was considering the idea of adding a feline companion to his home.
The man was searching for an older cat to keep him company in his isolated cabin, but unexpectedly discovered Arlo thanks to his friends. Every time a new picture of the charming Arlo was shared by Cats Protection, they would tag him on social media. Davy found it hard to resist the cute attraction of this young feline.
Davy made plans to visit the animal shelter to meet a one-year-old cat named Arlo. Despite being shy and reserved, Arlo quickly warmed up to Davy during their first encounter. It was clear that there was a strong bond forming between them right from the start.
“I knew I was in love the moment I laid eyes on him,” Davy said with a smile.
The timid kitty even mustered up the courage to give Davy’s hand a gentle lick and started purring contentedly in his arms.
Like a perfect match made in heaven, it was clear that Arlo and Davy were meant for each other. Nothing could come between them as they happily share a home together. Arlo wasted no time making himself comfortable in his new environment, quickly finding his favorite spot on Davy’s lap.
“He’s still a bit timid and easily startled, and loud noises aren’t his favorite thing.” However, he is truly a lovable companion. His demeanor is truly one-of-a-kind. Davy referred to him as “quite a personality.”
On his initial vet visit after being adopted, Arlo greeted every staff member with open arms; he displayed exceptional bravery on that day.
