Shakira Immortalizes Her Contribution to a School in Colombia by Imprinting Her Hands and Feet in Concrete

She’s wrapping her El Dorado World Tour in Bogota, Colombia, on Saturday night.

And on Friday Shakira was guest of honor at the groundbreaking of two new schools – one in Cartagena and the second in her native Barranquilla.

The construction of both will be financed by Shakira’s Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos) that currently manages three schools for underprivileged children and the Barca Foundation.

Lifting her leg: Shakira was guest of honor at the groundbreaking of two schools in her native Colombia. The construction of both will be financed by her Barefoot Foundation on Friday

The Colombian hitmaker, 41, proudly left her hand and footprints on a cement cornerstone to mark the event.

Shakira’s long blonde curly hair shook as she burst into laughter when she plunged her foot into the cold cement.

The Deja Vu singer looked gorgeous in a pink, off-the-shoulder blouse with lace panels and blue jeans.

She happily posed with school children at the ceremony, who welcomed her warmly, as hundreds more waved and held up posters.

Making an impression: The 41-year-old smiled as she plunged her foot into the cold plaster at the school to be built in her home town of Barranquilla

Gales of laughter: A man gallantly held the songstress up as she removed her foot

Shakira’s tour kicked off in Hamburg, Germany on June 3 and the songstress has played 54 gigs in 23 countries since then.

Meanwhile, Saturday night’s final show will be a bit different.

The star is premiering her new Nada track and video before she hits the stage at Parque Simon Bolivar.

She shared a teaser on Instagram to let her 54.2 million fans know it will available online directly after her performance.

Meanwhile, Shakira – whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll – is no doubt looking forward to going home to her longtime beau and two sons in Barcelona, Spain.

She has been with Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué, 31, who plays for FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, since 2011.

They met in spring 2010, when Gerard appeared in the music video for Shakira’s song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. They share sons, Milan, five, and Sasha, three.
